Murtala Mohammed Dabo, a seasoned banker and skilled administrator, was appointed Commissioner of Agriculture by Governor Sen. Uba Sani on July 27, 2023. With over 33 years of experience across the private and public sectors, he holds an MBA from Bayero University. Dabo began his career at Zenith Bank Plc, rising to Deputy General Manager and overseeing operations in Kaduna, Niger, and Abuja. In public service, he held several key roles in the Kaduna State Government, including Economic Adviser to the Governor (twice), Executive Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, and Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Finance, Public Works & Infrastructure, and the Office of the Head of Service. He also served on the boards of KADIPA and key state committees on liquidity and public service reforms. Born in Zaria in 1969, Dabo attended LEA Primary School, Kachia; Government College, Kaduna; and GSS Kachia. He earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1990.
